    British or American music?

Kenapa ya mbok lebih suka mendengar British bands daripada American.

Mulai dari The Beatles, The Hollies, The Rolling Stones, David Bowie, Genesis, Queen, Pink Floyd, Roxy Music, Human League, Muse, Stereophonics, singers like Annie Lennox, Sade, Amy Whinehouse, dst.

Like there is something romantic in their music, even the rock bands.

Sementara the Americans hanya bisa meniru.

The Smiths, Simply Red, Blur, Suede, Oasis, Muse, Annie Lennox, Sade, Amy Winehouse,
Joss Stone, Rod Stewart, James Morrison, James Blunt, Jamie Cullum, etc.

Sekarang ini lagi suka dengerin Emily Sande

"A Whiter Shade of Pale" is the debut single by the English rock band Procol Harum, released 12 May 1967. The record reached number one in the UK Singles Chart on 8 June 1967, and stayed there for six weeks. Without much promotion, it reached No. 5 on the US charts. One of the counterculture anthems of the 1967 Summer of Love, it is one of fewer than 30 singles to have sold over 10 million copies worldwide.

With its Bach-derived instrumental melody, soulful vocals, and unusual lyrics, written by the song's co-authors Gary Brooker, Keith Reid, and organist Matthew Fisher, "A Whiter Shade of Pale" reached No. 1 in several countries when released in 1967. In the years since, it has become an enduring classic. As of 2009, it was the most played song in the last 75 years in public places in the United Kingdom, and the UK performing rights group Phonographic Performance Limited in 2004 recognised it as the most-played record by British broadcasting of the past 70 years. Also in 2004,Rolling Stone placed "A Whiter Shade of Pale" No. 57 on its list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time.

The first time I listened to the original version of the No. 1 song of the year ranked by Billboard for 1972.

It is a 1957 folk song written by British political singer/songwriter Ewan MacColl for Peggy Seeger, who would later become his wife, to sing. At the time the couple were lovers, although MacColl was married to someone else. Seeger sang the song when the duo performed in folk clubs around Britain. During the 1960s, it was recorded by various folk singers and became a major international hit for Roberta Flack in 1972, winning the Grammy Awards for Record and Song of the Year.

hampir semua yang gue denger musik dari Amriki.

Dream Theater, Metallica, Killswitch Engage, Green Day, you name it.

Beberapa, khususnya yang jadul dan klasik, emang mau gak mau harus balik ke UK (Led Zepp, Deep Purple, The Smiths, etc)

    RIP David Bowie

    "
Starman" is a song by David Bowie, recorded on 4 February 1972 and released as a single that April. The song was a late addition to The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars, included at the insistence of RCA’s Dennis Katz, who heard a demo and loved the track, believing it would make a great single. It replaced the Chuck Berry cover "Round and Round" on the album.

Writer James Robinson's acclaimed Starman series featured a story about an alien named Mikaal Tomas, who went by the alias of Starman while living on Earth. In the opening scene of the tale, Mikaal claims that the people of Earth gave him the name due to the similarities between his own life and Bowie's song. The song was played in the Torchwood episode "Random Shoes" during one of the focus character's flashbacks, and also over the closing credits of the first episode of the second series of Life on Mars, in keeping with the various David Bowie allusions throughout that series. The song was featured as the closing / end theme of the 26th season episode of The Simpsons "The Musk Who Fell to Earth". The song was also a part of the soundtrack for Ridley Scott's The Martian, about an astronaut stranded on Mars.
