    Err, let me define that, bro, just to avoid any misleading.. Wolverine is kinda immortal because he has the mutant power of self healing, hence all of the old and broken cells in his body can be quickly restored, that's why he has experienced many ages and eras (samurai, world wars, etc etc). He's even older than professor X himself.

    When Gambit do a time leap to the past of Paris, at the WW era, he met Wolverine. Like a highlander, he dons several identity that suits each eras. Once he's known as patch because he wears an eye patch like Fury. So yeah, he's one ol' tough bad ass motherf*cker.
