Reportedly in Talks for
Weekend Drama The Best
Lee Soon Shin



The preliminary 2013 K-drama lists are out
from the broadcast networks, with some
dramas and castings confirmed and others
toggling around from earlier rumors. For
example, the period drama Flower and
Sword that was rumored to be courting
Kim Nam Gil has now switched over to
courting Song Seung Heon. Oh boy to that
one. The current KBS weekend drama My
Daughter Seo Young with Lee Bo Young is
doing solid ratings in its time slot and will
run for a few more months to wrap up in
early April. It’s follow up drama is called
The Best Lee Soon Shin and was earlier
back in November of 2012 said to be
courting Kang Sora and Yoon Sang Hyun
for the leads. Now that we’re into 2013, the
names that are potentially attached to this
drama have spiked my interested whereas
before I had none. Jo Jung Seok and IU are
said to be in talks as the leads of this
weekend drama. It will be set in the
entertainment world, with the leading lady
a country bumpkin who comes to Seoul and
becomes sponsored by a businessman to
become a star while the leading man is an
already established idol singer. I love this
potential pairing so much already,
especially since Jo Jung Seok is way overdue
for a leading man role, not to mention I
already can sense great chemistry between
these two talented singer-actors. KBS, make
this happen!
The originally rumored pairing of Kang Sora
and Yoon Sang Hyun. I couldn’t picture this
OTP in a million years. I adore Yoon Sang
Hyun but he really shouldn’t be starring with
leading ladies as young as Kang Sora. It was
already a stretch when he did Take Care of
the Young Lady with Yoon Eun Hye. It’s
funny how IU was in Dream High while
Kang Sora did the unfortunate Dream High
2.

Ha Ji Won bakal main drama lagi !!!







MBC has a new drama in the works,
and it’s a good news/good news/bad
news kind of situation. Mathwise,
that works out favorably, no? First, in
the good column: Ha Ji-won (The
King 2 Hearts, Secret Garden) is
headlining as the leading lady.
Score one point for Show. The drama
will be a Goryeo-era sageuk about
Yuan Empress Ki, called Hwatu. As in
the card game? What a weird thing
to call your drama. I saw the title
and thought this was going to be the
Tazza remake, but apparently it has
nothing to do with that. (While
hwatu means “flower” and “fighting,”
they’re using the name of the card
game as their working title.)
The drama is planning for a fall
broadcast, following Moon Geun-
young’s Goddess of Fire Jung-yi . It’s
not surprising, since MBC has it
practically set in stone that its
Monday-Tuesday programming will
be a rotating wheel of sageuk. The
drama will be written by the team
behind Giant, History of the
Salaryman , and Incarnation of
Money , so Show gets another point.
They’re a good team, and can range
from hysterically funny to epically
epic, and everything in between.
And then the bad news… directing
is the PD of Dr. Jin and Personal
Taste . I know. That’s like minus
3000 points. Who keeps giving this
guy dramas to direct??
Ha Ji-won stars as Empress Ki, born
in Goryeo and taken to be a
concubine of the Yuan emperor. She
eventually becomes empress and is
a key figure during the time of King
Gongmin’s coup against the Mongol
state. (It’s the same timeline as
Faith , and she’s the sister of Ki
Chul.) The drama will be about her
turbulent life story, from being taken
to a foreign country to becoming
empress, as she attempts to protect
her pride and identity as a person
from Goryeo, eventually falls in love,
and makes political waves.
I like the idea, but with this
director, I’m pretty sure you could
take a hundred A-list ingredients
and he’d still find a way to turn it
into drama hodgepodge. Silver
lining, anyone? I’m fresh out.
Hwatu follows Goddess of Fire, which
puts its premiere in mid-October.

Time-slip drama Mi-rae’s
Choice confirms leads


Upcoming KBS time-slip drama
Mi-rae’s Choice (or Future
Choice, since the heroine’s
name means “future,” of
course) has finally secured its
cast. Yoon Eun-hye (I Miss
You) has signed on to play the
time-traveling heroine, Lee
Dong-gun (Smile Again, Lovers
in Paris ) will be making his
army comeback in his first
drama in five years, and Jung
Yong-hwa (You’ve Fallen For
Me) gives him a run for his
money as the other leg of the
love triangle.
The new fall Monday-Tuesday
drama comes from writer Hong
Jin-ah of The King 2 Hearts and
Beethoven Virus , and the PD of
Crime Squad and Bad Love .
It’ll be set in the world of
television broadcasting, and
stars Yoon Eun-hye as a writer
(named Na Mi-rae) who travels
back in time to meet her past
self on purpose to set about on
a different course in life.
Where’s the Bad Idea Fairy
when you need her?
Rift in space-time continuum
notwithstanding, I do like the
idea of Yoon Eun-hye playing
two totally different versions of
a character, which will be as
much fun as you can have
without being in a makjang
where you play your own evil
twin. The character is
described as a bright and
lovable type who spends her
days chanting to herself, “I’m
okay!” She works as a desk
drone at a large company’s call
center and just kind of scrapes
by in life. But one day her
future self appears in front of
her and starts her down a path
to pursue the things she really
wanted in life. It’s painted as
an uplifting success story, so
I’m thinking there will be
minimum supernatural
mythology — just enough to
get the gimmick going.
This will be Lee Dong-gun’s
first drama since 2008′s When
Night Comes , and he’ll be
playing the broadcaster’s lead
announcer, a man who can be
prickly, but is also a highly
principled and upright. Jung
Yong-hwa plays a VJ who went
to film school in the States.
But he’s also got a double life,
because he’s actually the
grandson of the broadcast
network’s CEO, and is basically
pulling an undercover boss
move by playing a lowly
cameraman when he’s set to
inherit the entire station. He’s
described as a smooth operator
who dreams of building a
media conglomerate that does
everything from film to TV.
On paper the setup sounds an
awful lot like Nine , but I think
we can expect a more heroine-
centric success story that
happens to use time travel,
rather than a story that hinges
on it. The writer is one in the
plus column for me, and well,
any day that Yoon Eun-hye
signs up for a drama that
doesn’t make me want to spork
my eyes out is a good day
indeed.
Mi-rae’s Choice follows Good
Doctor and airs in October on
KBS.

Drama baru YoonA plus Lee Bum So, tayang Desember nggantiin MHIYD-nya YEH.

Soooo… the Lee Beom-soo and Yoon-ah romantic pairing is happening. Yuuup. When the casting for the KBS drama Prime Minister and I was first announced as a possibility, it seemed so strange a match-up that I didn’t really think it would happen, but whaddaya know. Stranger things have happened in dramaland, I’m sure, even if I can’t think of any right now.

Prime Minister and I is a romantic comedy centering around the household of a prime minister with complete competence in the work sphere and zero competence in childcare. Lee Beom-soo plays the 40-year-old prime minister and single father of three whose household is in utter disarray, while Yoon-ah plays older than her years as a 28-year-old “mother who arrives in the house like a Christmas present,” and a love story unfolds between them. (The description says Yoon-ah’s a reporter, so I’m thinking she steps in to mother the children, but as they call her a young mother it’s unclear whether she has her own kids.) So in the story the age difference doesn’t seem too vast, though I don’t know how well that will translate when the real gap is 20 years and Yoon-ah’s just 23.

It sort of sounds like Prime Minister and I is the warm and fuzzy straight version of the employer-and-housekeeper romance, like Suspicious Housekeeper played out the expected way (if the suspicious housekeeper weren’t an uber-literal, robotic, and slightly creepy character, that is). In that sense it’s the less interesting version, but I can see how a straight-up heartwarming family drama mixed with funny romance has broader mainstream appeal.

Prime Minister and I will follow Mi-rae’s Choice on Mondays and Tuesdays and premieres in December.

Sementara lawan main YoonA di Love Rain, Jang Geun Suk bakal main juga di drama Pretty Man bersama Lee Jang Woo (I Do I Do) dan lead femalenya (belum confirmed dan lagi rame dan heboh di internet) IU. IU bahkan santer kabar dah potong rambut jadi cepak demi peran disini. Tu ava gw foto hari ini. Dia nutup kepalanya terus dan ada beberapa helai rambut hitamnya keluar. Padahal dia kan rambutnya terakhir kemarin merah.
Jadi spekulasi soal dia bakal main drama ini yang kemarin sempet ilang sekarang ramai lagi

IU CONFIRMED sebagai tokoh utama wanita di drama Pretty Man!
Bener2 surprise gw. Ga nyangka bakal secepat ini dia main drama lagi. Bareng Jang Geun Suk, Lee Jang Woo dan Han Chae Young (yang jadi sassy Girl Chun Hyang jaman dulu).
Pretty Man bercerita tentang si cowok cantik ini yang menaklukkan 11 cewek ter kaya yang bisa ditemuinya. Kenapa 11? Ntah untuk taruhan atau sebagai semacam good luck charmnya. Dia sudah menaklukkan 10 cewek. Giliran yang ke 11 ini yang bakal jd cerita. Lawan mainnya Kim Bo Tong diperankan IU. Ini cewek 4D yang konyol habis.
Cerita ini diadaptasi dari manhwa (manganya Korea). Klo liat screen capsnya konyol abis

Hari ini press confrencenya. Syuting katanya mulai tanggal 28, tapi katanya kemarin sudah syuting dan diam2 sudah melakukan pengambilan gambar untuk poster dramanya.
Dramanya bakal tayang 20 November menggantikan Secret.
