Pengertian gampang dari bunga bank, seperti yg kita kenal sekarang, adalah penambahan nilai pinjaman yg harus dikembalikan pada bank atau penambahan nilai simpanan ketika diambil dari bank.

Pengertian riba? Yg saya pahami adalah penambahan nilai pinjaman yg harus dikembalikan pada pemberi pinjaman.

saya masih ragu-ragu klo pengertian riba di ringkas se-Zakelijk sebagaimana yang ditulis Pak Purba, sedangkan di sisi lain saya sendiri juga belum menemukan pengertian Riba yang memuaskan hati dan pikiran (Definisi riba yang mana saya dapat menerima tanpa ada rasa ragu).

Memanglah secara umum adalah kenyataan bahwa bagi mayoritas umat islam pengertian Riba adalah sebagaimana yang ditulis Pak Purba. Tetapi Satu hal yang perlu kita ketengahkan sebelum memulai pembahasan soal riba menurut kacamata Agama Islam, yaitu bahwa definisi riba merupakan hasil dari pemikiran dari para ulama ahli hukum, bukan tercatat dalam teks wahyu yang jelas dan nyata. Definisi riba merupakan produk hukum adat (common law) yang berkembang dari akumulasi penentuan hukum sebelumnya. Islam melarang keras praktek riba, tapi tidak memberi batasan definitif tentang apa itu riba. (paragraf ini 95% copas tulisan pak Alip )

Batasan definitif tentang apa itu riba: It is no where mentioned in the Quran or The Hadith. The Imams are not even mentioned.

Ajaran Islam mengatakan riba haram. Bagaimana dgn bunga bank(rente)? Ya jelas haram.

dahulu Indonesia pernah diberkati dengan kelahiran seorang ahli ekonomi Islam. Ijazah keilmuan ekonominya di dapatkan di negeri Belanda. Latar belakang keluarga beliau adalah pengusaha. Pemasok barang bagi pemerintah hindia belanda (pada waktu itu Indonesia masih disebut hindia belanda).

Sebagai seorang manusia, oleh koleganya beliau dikenal sebagai seorang yang straight.

Di autobiografinya beliau menulis bahwa ada beberapa ulama (nama-nama ulama tersebut telah q sebutkan di depan) yang gave a religious verdict bahwa hukum rente itu boleh.

Beliau bernama Mohammad Hatta.

• What do you think about Taqleed?

We need to first define Taqleed. This is important because people say that Taqleed is to blindly follow. This is a common definition.

But I (Zakir Naik) say that if you trust someone, for example you go to the doctor, he gives you a medicine, you trust him and take the medicine

Actually Taqleed is an Arabic word which mean, for example, you pull an animal with rope, but it is commonly known as blind following

So I say that if you research and then follow someone then it is ok.

But if the person you follow, someone produces proof against his teachings from the Quran and Hadith.
And you insist on following his teachings, this is Taqleed

For example, You know a scholar, he gave a Fatwa (Religious verdict), you believed him because you are an ordinary man
This is not called Taqleed.

But another person comes in and informs you that the Scholar who gave you the Fatwa
His Fatwa is against The Quran and Hadith but you say: "No no, He is a great Scholar and I will follow his opinion".
After the proof has been presented to you in the light of the Quran and Hadith, if you insist on following that Scholar, this is called Taqleed

To do such a thing is wrong as per my opinion

• Most of the Muslims as of now have this mindset that they do taqleed. Does this mindset of doing Taqleed benefit or harm Islam?

It has harmed Islam as per my opinion, a great harm

And if you see all the Imams, Imam Abu Hanifa, Malik, Shafi or Ahmed. Four of them, May ALLAH Be Pleased with them all

All the four of them said that, if you find any of my Fatwa which is against The Quran or The Hadith, leave my Fatwa

These Imams, we respect them, they were great Imams, they were very knowledgable

But We need to learn that when they came, it was the beginning of the era of collection of Hadith

So whatever knowledge and information they had, they gave Fatwa according to that

They knew that they didnt have all the knowledge hence they gave Fatwa based on whatever knowledge and information they had

Hence they said, if you find any of my Fatwa which is against The Quran and Hadith, just leave it

So, their intention was no to create a sect ... . amoungst the Muslims, ... .

Imam Abu Hanifa said, If you find any of my Fatwa which is against The Quran or Hadith, leave my Fatwa, Imam Shafi said the same

No, no, not because you like it, but because it is correct.

• Yes, What I meant was, You like its soundness and correctness as per Religion. Can we follow many Imams at the same time?

Yes, these people say that you should follow only one Imam at a time and you cant change. Ask them for the proof if they are truthfull

It is no where mentioned in the Quran or The Hadith. The Imams are not even mentioned.

These Imams were great Scholars and we respect them all. Normally, 95% of their Fatwas are the same

The difference of opinion is only 2%, 3% or 4% and we fight behind such little difference


So if there is difference in 4% we should research. Whatever is agreed upon(disepakati), follow it without research, no problem

If you think there is a difference, please do some research because people say that we should follow The Quran and Hadith

So I say, if there is no difference of opinion, follow without research, we are ordinary people, it is ok. But if there is difference of opinion ... . Do the necessary research.

Tetapi untuk apa kita mengadakan aturan baru, bila aturan lama telah sempurna.
