Well, we have joined this competition program since 2007. In 2007, we went to Korea and we got first place, then in 2010 it was in Turkey and we won there too. In 2011-2012 we won in Italy, 2013 we went to Poland and we won too. It’s a regular program and it wasn’t actually the school’s core program. We have an extracurriculair program named Tralix, and we work together with GCN, a studio. GCN opened our first attempt to go abroad, and we are still working with them.
Well, to be honest, I am proud of my students because they won the competition. But, i am a bit sad too because students who can join the delegation are only those who can afford the fee. A student should pay more than 40 million rupiahs to go to Russia. This year, my friend, bu ikah, as the only one teacher who accompany them in Russia didn’t get support from the students’ fee, she had to ask our institution to pay her fee. It’s actually been a part of parents’ business nowadays, they interfere too much and they get a lot of benefit from this program, sad thing. Last year, miss putri, one of my friend who accompanied the students to poland, didn’t even know a bit about the financial record for the program, and when the parents’ board reported the financial progress to our headmaster, there were things that weren’t in balance. Sad thing. We have got new principal this academic year, and we hope she can adjust better condition for teachers and parents to work on its normal track again.
Well, for your info,, the only teacher here who have never been abroad is me. Sad thing. I was offered for more than 3 times,,, hong kong, singapore, australia,,, but i couldn’t go... i had to pass it to my friend. I am too *repot* with my children,,, well, ever since my late mother got suffered from her diabetes (she passed away last December) and my late mother in law passed away earlier three years ago,,, i have lot of thing to do with my own family,,, sad thing for a self carreer improvement here, huh? But, hopefully, the AlMighty will take care of me better, amin.
