The Voice is an American reality television singing competition that premiered on April 26, 2011, on the television network NBC. The new show is part of the The Voice franchise and is based on a similar competition format in The Netherlands entitled The Voice of Holland.

The show will be hosted by Carson Daly, and Alison Haislip will serve as the backstage and social networking correspondent. The winner will be receiving $100,000 and a record deal with Universal Republic. Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green, Adam Levine, and Blake Shelton will serve as coaches.

An NBC network executive has described the series as "a search by relevant artists for relevant artists"
